This role will be responsible for helping with the maintenance, support and development of a JAVA based application with DB2 database backend. Duties will include but are not limited to:

 

Analyze business requirements and work with HCD business analyst to understand and develop remaining functionality needed;

Design and develop enhancements to the application;

Perform system and integration testing functions;

Assist in the creation of documentation, such as technical and operational guides, transition and deployment documents; and,

Assist in the implementation of new changes to the application.

 

Mandatory Skills:

 

Computer Science degree/diploma or equivalent;

Minimum 3 years experience programming in the JAVA language - Version 1.6 or greater;

Minimum 3 years experience using the Swing/AWT libraries;

Minimum 3 years experience with JAVA RMI, socket based and multi-threaded programming;

Minimum 5 years experience with SQL and Database programming;

Minimum 4 years knowledge of DB2 or similar RDBMS;

Minimum 3 years experience with Eclipse Development Environment;

Experience with CVS;

Experience with third party reporting tools such as Crystal Reports; and

Experience with Active Service Pages (Classic).

 

Skills considered an asset:

 

Crystal Reports v10;

Crystal Enterprise v10;

Struts 1.2;

OpenROAD v4.1 and higher;

Я сегодня разговаривал с одним программистом , который работает в Manitoba eHealth, и он сказал, что у них ищут программистов (по моему на Java).

Объявлений не дают, но на самом деле ищут.

Summary:

Qualifications:

Computer Skills:

 

Proficient in the use and application of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Knowledge of Apache/Tomcat configuration, IIS 7 configuration, Subversion or other source control application, OnTime or other issue tracking application, Linux and Windows operating systems, familiarity with Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft .NET (C#, VB).

Understanding of MS SQL Server or other relational databases including stored procedure development.

Я смотрю что тема не обновлялась уже давно, перестали требовоться програмеры ? или вы ведёте переписку в личьке?

Мне интересно как обстоят дела с IT - судя по поискам "требуются" обстановка не очень (с програмерами) ?

из личного опыта обстановка на рынке труда IT на данный момент лучше по сравнению с пол года назад или год назад. Делать выводы по наличию обьявлений на форуме не стоит, так как ето не поисковая система для работы.

Просто тема называется "Требуется программер", до определенного числа были Advertisements а потом тишина, так вот и стало интересно как там обстоят дела по личному опыту форумчан а не по Google search.

А по Google search вы и так не можете знать как обстоят дела на рынке работы. 80% позиций до интернета не доходит а заполняется знакомыми и знакомыми знакомых.

Согласна, но все же есть специализированные поисковые системы для работы (например indeed), и можно заметить если регулярно проверять что положение немного улучшилось
